NAGLFAR

Vinyl re-issue with gatefold cover of the debut album from 1995 by Swedish extreme Metal pioneers NAGLFAR and one of the cornerstones of Scandinavian melodic Death/ Black Metal. Released after several demos and the EP "Stellae Trajectio", "Vittra" introduced a band whose identity was already remarkably well developed, combining the aggression and guitar work of Swedish Death Metal with the darkness, atmosphere and aesthetics of Black Metal. The result was a fresh and highly inspired release that quickly established NAGLFAR as one of the most promising acts of the Scandinavian extreme Metal scene.

Within the band's catalog, "Vittra" remains widely regarded as its definitive statement and a landmark of melodic Death/ Black Metal. The combination of memorable guitar harmonies, razor-sharp riffs, epic melodies and ferocious execution resulted in an album that shares much of its spirit with classics by DISSECTION, SACRAMENTUM, UNANIMATED and NECROPHOBIC, while maintaining a distinctive identity of its own. More than three decades after its release, it continues to stand as one of the great classics of Swedish extreme Metal and a major influence on countless bands that followed.
