SLAUGHTERDAY

Vinyl verison of the 2018 EP (6 songs/28 min.) by German Death Metal outfit SLAUGHTERDAY, released between the band's 2nd album "Laws of the Occult" and the later full-length "Ancient Death Triumph". Founded by Jens Finger (ex-OBSCENITY) and Bernd Reiners, the band has established itself as one of the strongest representatives of contemporary old-school European Death Metal, successfully capturing the dark and morbid atmosphere of the genre's early years while maintaining a fresh and powerful approach. Featuring nearly 28 minutes of music, "Abattoir" finds the band performing at a particularly inspired stage of its career.

Musically, the EP preserves all the elements that define SLAUGHTERDAY: heavy riffing, dark atmospheres, well-integrated Doom influences and a deep devotion to early 1990s Death Metal. The release includes 4 new songs, alongside cover versions of TROUBLE and AMORPHIS, making it far more substantial than a typical stopgap EP. The balance between darkness, heaviness and melody highlights the band's growing compositional maturity and turns "Abattoir" into an essential chapter within the SLAUGHTERDAY catalog.
