3rd album from 1998 by Sweden's OPETH and the release that marked a decisive turning point in the band's evolution. The group's first concept album and the first to feature drummer Martín López, "My Arms, Your Hearse" found Mikael Åkerfeldt pushing OPETH's sound into darker, more focused and mature territory than on the band's first two records.
Compared to "Orchid" and "Morningrise", the songwriting became more concise and direct while retaining the complexity that defined the band's identity. Blending Progressive Death Metal, melancholic acoustic passages and a dark atmosphere that supports the album's storyline about a spirit trapped between life and death, the record is widely regarded as OPETH's first true masterpiece. This edition also includes 2 bonus tracks, featuring the CELTIC FROST and IRON MAIDEN cover versions originally added to the 2000 reissue.
