2nd album from 1986 by American Heavy/ Power Metal outfit CHASTAIN, one of the standout bands of the 1980s US Metal scene. Released just one year after "Mystery of Illusion", "Ruler of the Wasteland" marked a significant step forward for the band led by virtuoso guitarist David T. Chastain, further establishing its own identity through a powerful combination of technical skill, speed and melody. The album once again featured the outstanding vocals of Leather Leone, whose commanding performance would become one of the band's defining trademarks.

Within the CHASTAIN catalog, this release is widely regarded as one of the essential albums of the band's early years. The chemistry between David T. Chastain's spectacular guitar work and Leather Leone's unmistakable voice reaches a particularly inspired level, resulting in a collection of songs that balances aggression, virtuosity and memorable melodies while retaining the power that defines American Heavy Metal.
