Released after "Necroshine", "Bloodletting" marked the beginning of a new chapter for OVERKILL with the arrival of guitarist Dave Linsk, bringing fresh energy to the band's sound while preserving the aggression and identity that had always defined it.

The album is noticeably heavier than its predecessor, recapturing much of the intensity and speed of the band's classic years while benefiting from a more modern approach and a more powerful production. Widely regarded as one of the strongest releases of OVERKILL's 2000s era, it proved once again why the band remains one of the most dependable and enduring names in Thrash Metal.
