2nd album from 1996 by Italian EVOL, one of the most original acts from the early European Symphonic Black Metal scene. Inspired by the stories of H.P. Lovecraft and the world of dreams, "Dreamquest" creates a unique atmosphere where Black Metal merges with Gothic influences, ambient passages, abundant keyboards and female operatic vocals, resulting in a sound that stands apart from the genre's conventions.

Rather than relying on sheer aggression, EVOL focuses on building dark, mysterious and theatrical soundscapes through highly atmospheric compositions with a distinctly cinematic feel. Widely regarded as the band's finest achievement, "Dreamquest" remains a true cult classic of 1990s atmospheric and Symphonic Black Metal.
