Debut album from 2000 by Ukraine's PHANTASMAGORY and a genuine hidden gem of Eastern European Progressive/ Technical Death Metal. Originally released on cassette, "Odd Sounds" revealed a remarkably advanced and distinctive approach, blending technical musicianship, atmosphere and experimentation within a Death Metal framework.

Across nearly 47 minutes, the band crafts a complex and immersive sonic landscape filled with atmospheric passages, intricate instrumental developments, frequent tempo changes and a strong progressive sensibility. Keyboards play a particularly important role, adding a spacey and melancholic dimension that sets the album apart from many contemporary releases.
