XENTRIX

3rd album from 1992 by British XENTRIX, released during one of the most challenging periods for Thrash Metal. With "Kin", the band shifted towards a more melodic and restrained sound, incorporating stronger traditional Heavy Metal influences while scaling back the speed and aggression that had defined its first two albums. Although this stylistic change divided part of its fanbase, the record clearly reflects more mature songwriting and increasingly sophisticated arrangements.

The album features solid riffing, a darker atmosphere and a greater emphasis on vocal melodies while still retaining enough of XENTRIX's identity to remain recognisable. Over the years, "Kin" has been reassessed by many listeners as an unfairly overlooked release, valued for its individuality and its willingness to explore new musical territory during a period of major change for the genre.
