Released three years after "No Place Like Home", "Financial Suicide" became SIREN's final studio album of its original era before the band's early-1990s split. With this release, the group further developed its distinctive approach to American Heavy Metal, combining power, technical skill and strong melodic sensibilities that set it apart from many of its contemporaries.

Within the band's catalog, this album represents the culmination of the evolution begun on its debut, featuring more mature and refined songwriting while retaining the energy and spirit of classic 1980s Heavy Metal.
