EDGE OF SANITY

4th album from 1994 by Swedish Death Metal visionaries EDGE OF SANITY and one of the essential releases in the evolution of melodic and progressive Death Metal during the 1990s. Released one year after "The Spectral Sorrows", "Purgatory Afterglow" saw the Dan Swanö-led band pushing even further the blend of brutality, melody and experimentation that had already become its trademark. Recorded and mixed at Unisound Studios in July 1994 and released through Black Mark Production, the album occupies a pivotal place in the band's catalog, serving as a bridge between its earlier material and the groundbreaking approach that would later culminate in "Crimson".
