PUTERAEON

3rd album from 2014 by this Swedish Death Metal band whose lyrics are heavily inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. With "The Crawling Chaos", PUTERAEON further develops its trademark old-school Swedish Death Metal approach, combining classic chainsaw guitar tones, dark atmospheres and a strong focus on cosmic horror and supernatural themes. The album marked an important step in the band's evolution following the acclaimed "The Esoteric Order" and "Cult Cthulhu".

One of the album's strongest qualities is the way it blends the traditions of Scandinavian Death Metal with a distinctive thematic identity. Rather than merely recreating a familiar sound, PUTERAEON creates an oppressive and evocative atmosphere that perfectly complements its Lovecraft-inspired lyrical universe.
