Remixed edition presented in a slipcase and featuring 4 bonus tracks plus poster of the 1987 debut album by Canadian extreme Metal pioneers SLAUGHTER, one of the most influential and forward-thinking releases of the early extreme Metal era. Although recorded during 1986, "Strappado" was not officially released until the following year, quickly becoming a cult classic within the international underground. Hailing from Toronto and led by Dave Hewson, the band forged an exceptionally aggressive and dark sound that blurred the boundaries between Thrash Metal, proto-Death Metal and the earliest forms of Black Metal, anticipating many of the characteristics that would later define countless extreme Metal bands.
Within the band's catalog, "Strappado" stands as the ultimate expression of SLAUGHTER's early creative vision. Savage riffing, chaotic atmospheres, tortured vocals and a completely underground spirit helped lay the foundations for much of the primitive Death Metal that would emerge during the late 1980s. This remixed edition enhances the impact of the original recordings while preserving their raw essence, and the bonus material adds further value to one of the most important releases in the history of Canadian extreme Metal.
