HROPTATYR

2nd album from 2014 by this German Viking Metal band formed in Bavaria in 2008. With this self-titled release, HROPTATYR delivers a sound firmly rooted in the German Pagan and Viking Metal tradition, drawing inspiration from Norse mythology, heathen beliefs and ancient warrior tales. The album marked an important milestone for a band that had already spent several years building its reputation within the German underground scene.

The songs combine epic passages, folk-inspired melodies, powerful guitar work and a strongly heroic atmosphere, balancing aggressive sections with more melodic and evocative moments.
