Expanded reissue of the debut album from 1985 by legendary British extreme Metal pioneers SACRILEGE, one of the most influential and forward-thinking bands to emerge from the UK underground scene. Widely regarded as a landmark release in the evolution of European Thrash Metal, "Behind the Realms of Madness" stood out from the beginning thanks to its unique combination of Thrash aggression and dark, crushing elements that would later influence the development of Crust Punk, Death Metal and even Doom Metal. This edition also includes the 1986 demo, two tracks re-recorded in 2015 and two live recordings, providing a comprehensive overview of one of Britain's most important underground acts.

Within the SACRILEGE catalog, this album remains the band's defining and most influential work. The combination of savage riffing, dynamic tempo changes, dark atmospheres and the unmistakable vocals of Lynda "Tam" Simpson allowed the band to forge a unique identity that transcended conventional genre boundaries. Far darker and more extreme than much of the contemporary British Thrash Metal scene, SACRILEGE's approach became a major influence on countless Extreme Metal and Crust bands in the decades that followed.
