Split CD featuring two notable acts from the early European extreme Metal scene: Belgium's ANCIENT RITES and Sweden's UNCANNY. This release includes 4 tracks by ANCIENT RITES and 6 tracks by UNCANNY, providing an excellent overview of two scenes that, while closely connected, developed in different directions within the European underground. It is a particularly appealing release for collectors interested in the formative years of both Black Metal and Scandinavian Death Metal.

The ANCIENT RITES material showcases one of the earliest expressions of continental European Black Metal, still carrying traces of primitive Death Metal aggression while already embracing the dark atmospheres, occult themes and epic character that would later become defining features of the band's sound. UNCANNY contributes six tracks of classic Swedish Death Metal, packed with heavy riffs, dark atmospheres and the crushing intensity that made the Scandinavian scene so influential. The contrast between both bands makes this split a fascinating historical document, illustrating two parallel paths in the evolution of early European extreme Metal.
