3rd album from 2017 by this veteran Japanese Death/ Doom band. With "Cranial Obsession", ANATOMIA further develops the path established on its previous releases, delivering an even darker, more atmospheric and oppressive sound while remaining firmly rooted in old-school extremity. Clearly inspired by the legacy of AUTOPSY yet possessing an increasingly distinctive identity, the band crafts an album where putrid Death Metal and crushing Funeral Doom coexist seamlessly.

The longer and more ambitious compositions allow the band to explore vast landscapes of decay, alternating bursts of violence with slow, suffocating passages that reinforce the album's morbid atmosphere. "Cranial Obsession" represents a significant step forward in ANATOMIA's songwriting and is widely regarded as one of the strongest and most accomplished releases in the band's catalogue.
