"Abominations of Desolation" documents the earliest incarnation of MORBID ANGEL, with Mike Browning (later founder of NOCTURNUS) handling both vocals and drums, while David Vincent produced the sessions before officially joining the band as bassist and vocalist. Although it remained unreleased for many years, the album already showcased many of the ideas that would later define MORBID ANGEL: complex riffing, dark atmospheres, relentless aggression and a remarkably distinctive identity for its time.
