SAMAEL

Debut album from 1991 by this legendary Swiss Black Metal band. With "Worship Him", SAMAEL released one of the defining works of early European Black Metal, crafting a dark, ritualistic and deeply atmospheric sound that, while remaining raw and uncompromising, already hinted at the band's unique identity that would later evolve on subsequent releases.

The album combines gloomy riffs, predominantly slow tempos and a haunting occult atmosphere throughout, supported by Vorph's distinctive vocals and a stripped-down production that perfectly enhances its primitive essence. An essential old-school Black Metal classic that proved highly influential in the genre's later development.
