KING DIAMOND

Debut album from 1986 by Danish KING DIAMOND and the outstanding beginning of one of Heavy Metal's most distinctive solo careers. Released shortly after the initial split of MERCYFUL FATE, "Fatal Portrait" allowed King Diamond to fully explore his theatrical and conceptual vision, backed by an exceptional line-up featuring guitarists Andy LaRocque and Michael Denner.

Although only the second half of the album follows a continuous storyline, this debut already contains all the trademarks that would define KING DIAMOND: intricate songwriting, haunting atmospheres, superb guitar work and his unmistakable vocal performance. Widely regarded as a true Heavy Metal classic, it laid the foundations for one of the genre's most unique catalogues.
