2nd album from 1997 by Swedish DEATHWITCH, the project led by Niklas "Terror" Rudolfsson (RUNEMAGICK, SACRAMENTUM), further expanding its unmistakable fusion of primitive Black Metal, Death Metal and Thrash Metal. Rather than merely recreating the sound of the '80s, the band captures the savage essence of early extreme Metal through a raw, uncompromising approach that remains completely faithful to the underground spirit.

"Dawn of Armageddon" is driven by razor-sharp riffing, frantic drumming and a rough production that enhances the sinister atmosphere surrounding every song. The influence of early European Black/Death Metal and savage Thrash is unmistakable, yet the band injects enough personality to avoid sounding derivative. A fierce and authentic release that stands as one of the finest examples of old school extreme Metal from the Swedish underground.
