- New
7th album from 1985 by Britain's SAXON and one of the most controversial releases of the band's classic era. Released during the commercial peak of melodic Hard Rock in the 1980s, "Innocence Is No Excuse" saw the band exploring a more accessible and American-oriented sound while still retaining many of the qualities that had made it one of the leading names of the NWOBHM movement.
While featuring stronger melodies, more commercial choruses and a polished production, the album still preserves many of SAXON's traditional Heavy Metal strengths, particularly in its riffing, guitar work and the unmistakable voice of Biff Byford. Over time, "Innocence Is No Excuse" has been reassessed by many fans as an underrated release containing some of the strongest songwriting of the band's 1980s period, revealing a different yet highly enjoyable side of the British veterans.
