ENTHRONED

Debut album from 1995 by Belgium's ENTHRONED and one of the earliest major Black Metal releases to emerge from outside Scandinavia during the genre's explosive growth in the 1990s. Founded by Cernunnos, Tsebaoth and Nornagest, the band introduced itself with a work that captured the ferocity, darkness and blasphemous spirit of the second wave of Black Metal, quickly establishing ENTHRONED as one of continental Europe's leading acts.

"Prophecies of Pagan Fire" delivers fast, aggressive and deeply atmospheric Black Metal built upon icy riffing, relentless drumming and a dark ambiance strongly rooted in the classic Norwegian tradition. At the same time, ENTHRONED injects its own identity through an especially savage execution and a strong fascination with occult and pagan themes. Raw, intense and packed with underground anthems, the album remains one of the essential European Black Metal records of the 1990s.
