ACT OF DEFIANCE

Debut album from 2015 by American ACT OF DEFIANCE, the supergroup featuring former MEGADETH members Chris Broderick and Shawn Drover alongside bassist Matt Bachand (SHADOWS FALL) and vocalist Henry Derek. "Birth and the Burial" delivers a powerful blend of modern Thrash Metal and Melodic Death Metal, driven by Broderick's outstanding guitar work and a crushing production by Chris "Zeuss" Harris.

The album balances aggression, technical precision and melody through razor-sharp riffs, intricate arrangements and exceptional lead guitar work while maintaining memorable hooks throughout. Although occasional echoes of modern MEGADETH are inevitable, the band establishes its own identity with a heavier and more contemporary approach, making this an impressive debut.
