Completely re-recorded, remixed and remastered 2020 edition of the debut album by American Death Metal outfit CONSTRUCT OF LETHE, originally released in 2016. Conceived by guitarist and songwriter Tony Petrocelly as a vehicle to finally record material he had written for former bands including BETHLEDEIGN, XAOC and DEAD SYNDICATE, "Corpsegod" returned with an entirely revamped sound, featuring newly recorded rhythm guitar and bass tracks, all lead guitar work reimagined by Patrick Bonvin, and the devastating drumming of Kevin Talley. The new edition also addressed the shortcomings Petrocelly himself felt had affected the original release.
Musically, "Corpsegod" delivers an uncompromising blend of Technical and Brutal Death Metal, driven by labyrinthine riffing, relentless tempo shifts and exceptional musicianship. Despite its technical sophistication, the album never sacrifices power or intensity, drawing from the savage traditions of MORBID ANGEL, HATE ETERNAL and HIDEOUS DIVINITY while maintaining its own distinct identity. Thanks to its completely renewed production, this edition finally presents these compositions with the clarity and crushing impact they always deserved, making it the definitive version of the band's debut.
