BETRAYER (pol)

Debut album from 1994 by Polish BETRAYER, one of the cult bands of the country's Death Metal scene. Following two highly acclaimed underground demos, the band delivered "Calamity", a fierce and uncompromising album heavily influenced by the early European and American Death Metal movement, with a style strongly reminiscent of early VADER.

"Calamity" is a relentless dose of old school Death Metal packed with razor-sharp riffs, rapid tempo changes, aggressive vocals and a dry, powerful production that perfectly captures the spirit of the era. A hidden gem of Polish Death Metal that deserves far more recognition and remains a superb example of mid-1990s extreme Metal.
