SLUG LORD

2nd album from 2014 by this Finnish band from Helsinki, a group devoted to a heavy and psychedelic brand of Stoner/ Doom Metal deeply rooted in the darker, denser and more hypnotic side of the genre. On "Transmutation", SLUG LORD delivers a sound built upon massive fuzz-drenched riffs, crushing rhythms and ominous atmospheres, drawing inspiration from both occult Doom and the most mind-expanding traditions of underground stoner rock.

Rather than pursuing the epic path of traditional Doom Metal, the band focuses on creating an immersive experience driven by hypnotic riffing, absorbing song structures and an overwhelming sense of heaviness. The organic production and deliberately raw approach reinforce the underground spirit of the material, allowing the compositions to unfold with relentless power. "Transmutation" strengthened SLUG LORD's identity and established the band as one of the more noteworthy names within the contemporary Finnish Doom scene.
