DIABOLOS RISING

Vinyl reissue including a 16-page A5 booklet, of the 1994 debut album by Greece's DIABOLOS RISING, a project created by Mika Luttinen (IMPALED NAZARENE) and Magus Wampyr Daoloth (THOU ART LORD, NECROMANTIA, ROTTING CHRIST). Far removed from the musical direction of their better-known bands, the duo crafted a highly experimental work that anticipated many aspects of later Black Industrial and avant-garde Black Metal movements.

"666" delivers a bizarre and provocative blend of Black Metal, Industrial, Darkwave, dark electronics and ritualistic atmospheres. Mechanical programming, unsettling soundscapes, obsessive vocal patterns and unconventional song structures replace many of the traditional elements of extreme Metal, resulting in a release that remains as challenging as it is innovative. A genuine cult album whose unique character continues to stand apart within the European underground of the 1990s.
