BATHORY

2nd album from 1985 by the legendary Swedish BATHORY, a landmark release in the development of primitive Black Metal and one of the albums that laid the musical and aesthetic foundations of the genre. With "The Return......", Quorthon pushed the rawness of the debut even further, embracing a darker, harsher and more atmospheric sound that would profoundly influence the entire extreme metal scene.

Its deliberately filthy production, savage riffing, ghostly vocals and oppressive atmosphere make the album as unsettling as it was revolutionary. Rather than pursuing technical perfection, BATHORY forged a completely unique sound that helped shape the future of Black Metal throughout the late 1980s and early 1990s, securing its place as one of the most important albums in the history of extreme metal.
