With heavy riffs, sinister atmospheres and relentless aggression, the album has become a genuine classic of Swedish Death Metal. Although THERION would later achieve worldwide recognition through its symphonic and experimental evolution, “Of Darkness...” remains an outstanding document of the band's brutal origins and an essential piece of early European Death Metal.
