8th album from 1996 by American OVERKILL, the first to feature guitarists Sebastian Marino and Joe Comeau, marking the beginning of a new chapter following the band's mid-1990s lineup changes. With "The Killing Kind", OVERKILL adopted a heavier and more contemporary approach, incorporating lower tunings while fully preserving the Thrash Metal identity that had always defined the band.

The album is driven by crushing riffs, a thunderous rhythm section and the unmistakable vocal performance of Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth, delivering a powerful combination of aggression, intensity and consistently strong songwriting. Widely regarded as one of the finest releases of OVERKILL's 1990s period, it proved the band could successfully evolve without sacrificing its unmistakable character, further cementing its status as one of America's premier Thrash Metal acts.
