VOID WITCH

Debut EP from 2022 by this American Death/ Doom Metal band from Austin, Texas. Formed in 2021, VOID WITCH emerged from the underground with this self-titled release, a three-song offering that immediately established the foundations of a sound defined by crushing heaviness, oppressive atmosphere and a strong affinity for the darker and more cavernous side of Death/ Doom Metal.

Rather than serving as a mere introduction, this EP acts as the first chapter in a journey that would culminate two years later with the band's debut full-length "Horripilating Presence". Across just over twenty minutes, VOID WITCH explores a dense and suffocating approach built around slow-moving structures, monolithic riffing and sepulchral atmospheres. While retaining the raw edge expected from a young band, the release already reveals the distinctive identity that would help establish VOID WITCH as one of the more promising names in the modern American Death/ Doom scene.
