5th album from 1993 by the legendary American Death Metal pioneers and one of the key releases in the genre's evolution toward more technical and sophisticated territory. Released only two years after "Human", "Individual Thought Patterns" represented another major step forward for DEATH, further consolidating the transformation that began in the early 1990s while expanding the compositional boundaries of Death Metal.

The addition of guitarist Andy LaRocque (KING DIAMOND), alongside the presence of musicians such as Gene Hoglan and Steve DiGiorgio, played a crucial role in giving the album a unique identity within the band's catalog. While retaining the aggression of previous releases, Chuck Schuldiner pushed his songwriting toward greater technicality, complexity and melodic depth, laying much of the groundwork that would later reach its peak on "Symbolic". For many fans, this remains one of the most innovative and influential recordings in the history of Technical Death Metal.
