2nd album from 1988 by American DEATH and one of the defining milestones in the evolution of Death Metal. With "Leprosy", Chuck Schuldiner took a major step beyond "Scream Bloody Gore", delivering a heavier, more refined and better structured sound that helped establish the blueprint for the genre. The addition of Rick Rozz and Bill Andrews gave the band an even stronger musical foundation.

The album stands out for balancing the raw brutality of early Death Metal with noticeably more mature songwriting, foreshadowing the progressive path the band would later pursue. Its lasting influence on countless musicians has secured its place as one of the essential extreme metal albums ever recorded.
